Trace the exact document revision.

A publication record preserves the public revision issued by Defiance. It gives readers a durable way to identify that version of a document and detect a supplied hash mismatch. Released research papers use a separate Ed25519 receipt in the Research Library.

Verify a record

Enter the record from a signed document.

A record key appears in the publication panel at the end of a newly issued or materially revised document. Adding a document hash is optional when using the enhanced verifier.

The key is public but opaque. It does not reveal an unpublished document.

What this proves

  • It preserves a revision. The result identifies the exact public document revision Defiance registered.
  • It can expose a mismatch. A supplied SHA-256 hash either matches the preserved revision or it does not.
  • It is not a COA. Product and lot verification remain on the separate COA verifier.
  • It is not a research-release receipt. Released research papers have their own Ed25519 signature, public-key path, and integrity chain in the Research Library.
  • It is not source adjudication. A verified record does not certify external research, a clinical claim, or a product outcome.

How to find a record

    Open a signed document

    New or materially revised CMS and journal documents carry a publication-record panel.

    Use the record key

    Enter its opaque key in the enhanced verifier to retrieve the safe, preserved record summary.

    Compare when needed

    Provide a SHA-256 hash only when you need to check a supplied document against that record.
