Mechanism record
Ipamorelin is a selective 5-residue chemical sequence growth hormone secretagogue that binds GHS-R1a (ghrelin receptor) on anterior pituitary somatotrophs. It activates intracellular Ca²⁺ mobilization and PKC signaling to trigger GH vesicle exocytosis. Highly selective, does not significantly increase cortisol, ACTH, prolactin, or aldosterone at physiological doses, distinguishing it from GHRP-6 and hexarelin.
