Mechanism record
Thymosin Alpha 1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino-acid chemical sequence originally isolated from thymic tissue (thymosin fraction 5). It activates innate immunity via TLR2/TLR9 signaling on dendritic cells, promotes T-cell maturation and CD4+/CD8+ differentiation, enhances NK cell cytotoxicity, and stimulates antibody production. FDA-approved outside the US as Zadaxin for hepatitis B and used as an immune adjuvant.
