- Mechanism record
- Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic 4-residue chemical sequence based on the natural pineal gland extract epithalamin. It activates telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), extending telomere length in somatic cells. Additionally modulates pineal melatonin synthesis, upregulates antioxidant enzyme expression, and normalizes circadian rhythm gene programs. The Khavinson group demonstrated significant lifespan extension in multiple animal models.
- Half-life record
